Halcor invests continuously in R&D of processes, products, metallurgy, and materials with the objective to introduce technology improvements in various fields of applications and thus offer cutting-edge products and integrated solutions.

As an active member of the Hellenic Research Centre for Metals (ELKEME), Halcor also supports broader efforts to promote R&D in the copper and copper alloy sector and builds on the technical expertise of a network of research institutes, universities and research companies. Through research, Halcor is able to accumulate significant knowledge in production process and product improvements to meet the most demanding and diversified customer requirements. Halcor’s continuous advancements in technology enable the company to support clients as products and services evolve through time. Market-oriented development actions bring together experts from different disciplines, in close collaboration with Applied Metallurgy and Quality departments.


Proof of the company’s ability to offer comprehensive services and product improvements is the establishment of the innovative Tube Heat Transfer Laboratory. The Tube Heat Transfer Laboratory allows Halcor to manufacture TALOS®Inner-Groove Tubes (IGT) based on different customer specifications, as well as introduce improvements in specific product applications.


Halcor is also a founding member of the Hellenic Copper Development Institute, actively involved in educational programs by providing materials, hosting and financing specialised seminars across Greece. Through HCDI, a member of the European Copper Institute (ECI), Halcor is actively involved in major research projects concerning copper’s impact on human health and the environment.

HALCOR established the Tube Heat Transfer Laboratory dedicated in performance measurement of inner grooved tubes and R&D of heat-exchangers tubes technical support of heat exchanger manufactures. 

Machinability Lab for Brass Alloy Testing and Solutions

Our Machinability Lab is designed to test the properties of brass alloy formulations, allowing us to gain insights into their performance and suitability for a range of machining applications.

Computer-aided Modeling of Manufacturing Processes

Halcor invests continuously in Technology & Research aiming to introduce optimized materials and services in a holistic technical approach. In this framework, computer-aided tools, such as CAD, FEA, and CFD can be exploited for engineering analysis tasks of various manufacturing processes.

ELKEME activities are mainly focused on applied technological research towards: a. Improvement in the quality of existing and development of new, innovative and high value added products. b. Optimisation of industrial processes, to support energy and cost efficient operations with respect for human health and safety as well as the environment. In parallel and in order to achieve sustainable growth, ELKEME conducts impact assessment on plant environmental performance across different industrial sectors as well as research in the fields of recycling, stabilisation and utilization of by-products in the production of new high-added value products exploiting their chemical and/or energy content. The key objective of ELKEME is the deployment and provision of high added value R&D services and technical solutions applicable to business and plant production processes, through: High quality and cutting-edge laboratories.
