Sustainability Strategy

Double materiality assessment

At Halcor, sustainability is a core principle guiding our operations and strategic direction. We are committed to integrating sustainable practices across every aspect of our business.

By adhering to strict sustainability standards, we ensure transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement. The company is committed to responsible production with new technologies, the development of products that contribute to addressing climate change throughout their lifecycle, continuous improvement of its environmental performance, the health and safety of its people and partners, and due diligence in its supply chain. Our goal is to create a sustainable future for both our company and the communities we serve.

A key element of our approach is the double materiality assessment, which evaluates both the impact of our activities on society and the environment, and the economic risks and opportunities arising from sustainability issues. Its results align closely with our sustainability strategy, reinforcing our focus on responsible operations, environmental stewardship, and long-term value creation. The main pillars of Halcor’s sustainability strategy are presented below.

Climate Change

Halcor’s products are at the forefront of major trends for applications that include energy transition and product recyclability. The company’s commitment is to continue producing copper products that promote global goals for addressing the climate crisis and to reduce its carbon footprint. In this strategy, key drivers are recognized, such as the energy transition in the company’s production and supply chain, increased use of recycled metal in products, and investment in new technologies for product design and production optimization. Simultaneously, the company is dedicated to continuously improving the overall energy and environmental footprint and, to that end, has set its carbon emission reduction targets for 2030.

Health and safety

The health and safety of Halcor’s people and partners remains a top priority and strategic commitment for the company, and significant resources are allocated towards enhancing working conditions and creating a safer work environment. In this context, Halcor has carried out a five-year action plan related to health and safety, develops and implements comprehensive training programs, as well as equipment and process improvement initiatives.

Circular economy

Halcor leverages the potential and applications of copper to create recyclable products, while striving to continuously increase the use of secondary metal (scrap) in its production, with an emphasis on scrap derived from end-of-life products. The recycling of secondary metal is a key driver for reducing the overall footprint of the company’s products, as it replaces primary metal.

Responsible sourcing

Halcor has entered into a strategic partnership with the internationally recognized assessment platform EcoVadis, through which it evaluates its main suppliers based on sustainability criteria. The company continually seeks resilient collaborative relationships with its suppliers and partners, recognizing their decisive contribution to the overall footprint of its products.
