Gold Award in the “Special Applications for Companies” category, Processing section
Halcor has been recognized as a leading company at the Business IT Excellence (ΒΙΤΕ) Awards 2016, receiving a Gold Award in the “Special Applications for Companies” category, in the Processing section. The award comes as recognition of the company’s technological excellence in the field of IT as well, highlighting that Halcor focuses on innovation and strategically leverages digital technology in order to enhance business objectives.
The award-winning project refers to the implementation of an ambitious Program of Projects on Advanced Planning and Scheduling (Optimisation) as well as a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) for Halcor S.A. The project’s objective was to maximize customer satisfaction, focusing especially on consistency, response speed on meeting demand, as well as the integration of product support services.
Advanced Planning and Scheduling (APS) refers to a manufacturing management process by which raw materials and production capacity are optimally allocated to meet demand. Respectively, MES are computerized systems used in manufacturing, to track and document the transformation of raw materials to finished goods.
The award ceremony for the Business IT Excellence (ΒΙΤΕ) Awards 2016, took place on Thursday the 23rd of June at Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso (Kavouri). The awards are organized by Netweek magazine (Boussias Communications) and the E-Business Research Center (ELTRUN) of the Athens University of Economics and Business and their goal is to showcase IT & Communications projects for businesses, characterized by innovation, inventiveness and strategic approach.
